Woke up around 4 this morning from a dream in which I was accomplishing much in terms of writing a really insightful, action-packed chapter, and thought to myself "I hope I remember this when I wake up." I reassured myself that I was writing it down in my dream, so it would all be there in the morning.

Yeah, even at 4am I didn't buy that either. But I went back to sleep anyway.

I still remember the dream, but not, of course, the really good shit I was actually writing in the dream. My brain hates me sometimes.

Anyone else having weird/annoying/taunting dreams, while Mercury is retrograde?

Right. Time to worship (I originally typed 'workshop,' which is an interesting typo) the great Fiend Caf.

Yes. My only consolation is that the one time I actually wrote it all, or a good chunk of it, down it was total crap. What our dream brain thinks is brilliant writing isn't. It is however like having a nice little cheerleading squad in your head.

I dreamt a) of doing the laundry of a fussy housemate I'm not happy with in general all wrong--non-organic non-fair trade soap, and then after I'd put the money in the machine it turned out to be the wrong machine, so I had to swap it all over to the other machine, and stuff it all in there and get it started and then b) the dream-Kate changed from my housemate to a former roommate from freshman year of college who I hadn't even thought about in *years*.

Yes! I had a dream the other day after I woke up early and went back to sleep (this is when i get my best dreams) I had bought a house by a river in Italy (I believe this set up comes from my trip to Mazaltan), and awoke to find water from the stream leaking on to my bedroom floor. I asked my real estate guy, who just happened to pop his head in my window (and who was Dr. Phil!) if this was normal, and he said yes. It was the reason the previous owner sold the house. You don't want to know the rest. LOL

I've taken to post my most memorable dreams, but all the Stuff happening in my life at the moment pushes them away a bit.

I remember a dream from years ago, though, in which I went back to my old high school in order to write a book or at least an article about it, putting everything down in a little black notebook; towards the end the dream became lucid and I thought "I must remember this; ah well, I have the little black notebook after all" and of course woke up without it.

This is my old high school. (http://www.valdyas.org/~irina/werkplaats-2005/) I was very lucky to see it just before it was torn down in favour of a completely new building. WHen I came back a week after I'd learned that, they'd already torn down the gym.

Intersting you bring up writing in your sleep. I was having a conversation about that just last night. After the conversation I ended up rooting through my old poems abnout that problem.

-

How many stories lost, in the small seconds before slumber?
When eyes close, breath slows, how many poems gone?

How many poems lost, in the small seconds before slumber?
And are the stories truly lost, if the poet remains inspired?

-

Hope it didn't make your eyes bleed too bad *grins*
