been a while since I got a report card...
Sep. 21st, 2009 05:18 pmThe "Blending Genres" workshop critique notes from last weekend's conference just hit my in-box -- I got an overall score of 4.67 out of 5 (yay me) and a lot of satisfaction from the students, as well as the suggestion that maybe I have a little less caffeine next time. Heh. Yeah, I'd had to get up at oh god early and drive three hours to get there in time, so I was a little wired. Also, not knowing how many people I'd have (as in "zero, or twenty-five?") in the class until several minutes into the session was... distracting.
The only downmark (a 4/5) was in not having handouts -- I'd chosen to work off the whiteboard, since pre-conference information was, hrm, sketchy at best, and I had reason to doubt any material I sent would be printed out properly, and I didn't have time or energy to make an unknown number of copies on my own dime. Next year the conference runners should have a better idea of what they've gotten themselves into, and will be able to juggle/delegate better.
Nice to know I still have my teaching skiz, though. I'd like to get back to doing more of that. *ponders*
