The "Blending Genres" workshop critique notes from last weekend's conference just hit my in-box -- I got an overall score of 4.67 out of 5 (yay me) and a lot of satisfaction from the students, as well as the suggestion that maybe I have a little less caffeine next time. Heh. Yeah, I'd had to get up at oh god early and drive three hours to get there in time, so I was a little wired. Also, not knowing how many people I'd have (as in "zero, or twenty-five?") in the class until several minutes into the session was... distracting.

The only downmark (a 4/5) was in not having handouts -- I'd chosen to work off the whiteboard, since pre-conference information was, hrm, sketchy at best, and I had reason to doubt any material I sent would be printed out properly, and I didn't have time or energy to make an unknown number of copies on my own dime. Next year the conference runners should have a better idea of what they've gotten themselves into, and will be able to juggle/delegate better.

Nice to know I still have my teaching skiz, though. I'd like to get back to doing more of that. *ponders*

*pleased*

Oh, Castle. Welcome back. We missed you.

(also: you gotta love a show where the white goy makes a mohel joke to the black pathologist and she not only gets the joke but the show doesn't feel the need to explain the joke to the audience. Keep up, America!)

(Yes, House, we were delighted to see you, too. Stop fishing for compliments and go mess with someone's head for us)
