See now, that's why I rarely post about the details of my job -- crickets chirp. So you have only yourself to blame when the craft posts dry up entirely. So there.

Did a good day's work yesterday morning, then spent the afternoon wandering the Museum of Natural History, then out to dinner, during which my cell phone died. (yes, Nea, the same thing that happened when I was down there.) Fortunately, after a reboot and all-night recharge, it recovered (zombiephone!). Anyone else there with a G1 from T-Mobile have this experience, or is it Just. My. Phone?

Meanwhile, a very interesting tidbit from Tools For Change: What Ebook Resellers Should Learn from Scribd. Specifically, realtime sales information. What's most interesting to me is not just that Scribd is doing something right, but that the ability for other e-retailers to do the same is either here, or approaching here. Now to see if anyone takes up the gauntlet....

Awww. *pout* I read, but i rarely comment. "If I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed."

On Ravelry (knitter/crocheter/yarnie site), the message boards have little buttons under each post: educational, interesting, funny, agree, disagree, love. You can see how many people have clicked each button; it's a nice fast way to indicate that you really love a project someone has posted, or totally agree with a well-worded argument, or have found some info fascinating and useful and have bookmarked it for later reference. I got used to them very quickly, and am always sad when i can't find them on LJ. (It's almost reflexive - "ooooh, yeah, that's so totally right! ... Wait, where's the 'agree' button? Oh, yeah, drat.") It also helps to save on the "me too!" posts.

I have to admit, I do like the "like" tag on Facebook, even though it's a way to avoid actually interacting. I search for a happy medium (or at least one that's well-adjusted and good with her medium-ness)
