lagilman: coffee or die (meerkat coffee)

If, at 4 in the morning, a large orange cat goes havocing through your bedroom, and you use the light from your G1 phone to see WTF, the resulting caught-in-the-glare visual yes does look very much like a night-time shot out of a Discovery Channel special on tigers.

Just sharing that fact.

Both cats are in Dire Disgrace this morning. They know this. How do I know they know this? They're not agitating for me to feed them but rather have found spots across the room to sit quietly and wait, occasionally looking up to see if I am looking at them yet, to indicate All's Forgiven.

They're going to wait a while longer. And then I will feed them. because they are, after all, Cats. They get night-crazy sometimes, and dawn is a perfectly acceptable time for a cat to go hunting -- never mind that it's a perfectly acceptable time for a two-legged cat to be sleeping. We try to co-exist, and some days it works better than others.

Meanwhile, and slightly related, I had some thoughts about the nature of tolerance and thinking-rather-than-reacting, and my distaste for anyone who sees black-or-white-and-only-mine's-right, but I'm not in the mood this morning to deal with extremist ideology from any corner, so I'm just going to go feed the cats instead, and let y'all figure it out for yourselves.

And then maybe I'll go back to bed.

EtA: just walked into the bedroom, and there's Boomerang, sprawled on the bed, snoring away. Of course, that could not go without retaliation....kitty-pounce-and-nooogies! (Pandora feels it's her duty to at least try to stay awake to keep me company in the morning...she'll nap in the afternoon)

I love reading your posts. It never ceases to amaze me that you can get your brain not only to somewhat function so early in the morning but that you come up with the most unusual things to think about at such an ungodly hour.

Sadly, I had to shut out the furbabies out of the bedroom at night because Chaos will be sad that I'm not awake and start tapping my face with his paw or licking my eyelids...

I'm sure the fact that I sleep with earplugs and meds helps with them being shut out - I can't hear the plaintive whines and door thumps. :)
