If, at 4 in the morning, a large orange cat goes havocing through your bedroom, and you use the light from your G1 phone to see WTF, the resulting caught-in-the-glare visual yes does look very much like a night-time shot out of a Discovery Channel special on tigers.
Just sharing that fact.
Both cats are in Dire Disgrace this morning. They know this. How do I know they know this? They're not agitating for me to feed them but rather have found spots across the room to sit quietly and wait, occasionally looking up to see if I am looking at them yet, to indicate All's Forgiven.
They're going to wait a while longer. And then I will feed them. because they are, after all, Cats. They get night-crazy sometimes, and dawn is a perfectly acceptable time for a cat to go hunting -- never mind that it's a perfectly acceptable time for a two-legged cat to be sleeping. We try to co-exist, and some days it works better than others.
Meanwhile, and slightly related, I had some thoughts about the nature of tolerance and thinking-rather-than-reacting, and my distaste for anyone who sees black-or-white-and-only-mine's-right, but I'm not in the mood this morning to deal with extremist ideology from any corner, so I'm just going to go feed the cats instead, and let y'all figure it out for yourselves.
And then maybe I'll go back to bed.
EtA: just walked into the bedroom, and there's Boomerang, sprawled on the bed, snoring away. Of course, that could not go without retaliation....kitty-pounce-and-nooogies! (Pandora feels it's her duty to at least try to stay awake to keep me company in the morning...she'll nap in the afternoon)

(I even have a motorized toy I turn on for him, so he can Play Elsewhere with it. But he insists on coming back into the bedroom to see if the rest of us are awake yet... which means that Pandora will start hissing at him, and that sets them off all over again.)
My roommates. I should have gotten an iguana.

Date: 2009-03-07 03:47 pm (UTC)Boomer normally comes in around 4-5am and flops at the foot of the bed, and stares at me until I wake up. The crazy-cat mornings are exceptions, thankfully.
