Okay, here's the deal. I set a goal for how much money I thought I could raise for this walk. I haven't reached it.

I hate falling short of goals, especially when they're this important.

So I'm going to steal shamelessly from [livejournal.com profile] marinarusalka and offer the following deal:

Want a fic? Make a pledge. Then tell me whatcha want. I can offer Buffy-fic, Angelfic, SG-1 fic, Highlander-fic, Indiana Jones-fic, yes, even Probefic, [livejournal.com profile] fgwriter. *grin* If you're not sure if I know it well enough to write it, just ask. (But no HP fic -- I think that's already been well covered by [livejournal.com profile] marinarusalka.)

Ready, set... request!

(and remember that, while the walk is this weekend, pledges will be accepted up until the end of May!)

Wow

That is more than commendable, and I have to say, it's ingenious.

(Will definitely make a pledge regardless, but just curious:
how do you feel about Dune and Tolkien?)

Have a good walk!

I can do Tolkien, but beware it would be snarky Tolkien.
Snarky Tolkien? W00t!

*grin* Dune not so good on.
Fair enough, mais, I actually meant Dune and Tolkien, as in:

  • Leto Herunúmen the Were-worm of the Last Desert, God-Emperor of Middle-earth

  • Baron Vladimir Saruman

  • Sméaghola

"Why, I thought it was only a kind of worm caca, such as the Fremen prepare for their journey into the desert."
"So it is," laughed the blue-eyed Elves, "but we call it mélange or Spice, and it is more addictive by far than worm excrement, by all accounts."

As [livejournal.com profile] deire can tell you, I'm absolutely nuts (http://snipurl.com/5ytd).
:o)

And I have to admit that I won't be walking... I have a Previous Business Commitment in Oklahoma City, and the plane connection timing sucks no matter how I try to figure it. But I've been in training, and others in the team have agreed to carry the names I've been given, so (like the March last Sunday)
Not a problem - you contribute in what way you can best do so.
As Edsger Dijkstra once said: Do only what only you can do.

I feel I'll be there in spirit if not in flesh)
A good way to be, quoth Obi-Wan and Muad'dib both.

ROFLOL!
Ma'am, that is brilliant, as are you.
Two Jedi hobbit thumbs up.

But Elves went out of the world, and Spice came in, and Merry was thinking it was not a fair trade, no not a fair trade at all.
LOL!
I can see the Breelander raid on Sietch Tuqbara now...
Poor little Elanor, ickle hobbit abomination.

:g: I must admit, that puts the "Shortening of the Way" in quite a new light.

Thumpers... thumpers in the deep... they are coming.

Thou owest me Probefic!

Really, that's a brilliant bribe, and I have responded. I gave you the same amount as I've spent on books since the year began - seemed appropriate for the Fellowship of Scribes. (Loved the title!)

Hmph. I already made a pledge. Does that mean I can't request a Methos fic? :)

(I don't really need one. It's just the principle of the thing that made me have to comment. *grin*)

Hmmm. How do you feel about Wesley? And what sort of pledge would get me a nice Wesley fic?

I discovered years ago a preference for scruffy wounded-puppy character. Ray Kowalski of Due South season 3. Seamus Harper on Andromeda (these days the only thing worth watching the show for). Ezekial Stone on Brimstone (although he's less puppy, he's definitely wounded and scruffy). It think that's why Wesley became *much* more interesting in Angel season 3. And last week's episode! ~sniffle~

Of course, LittleBoyLost!Wesley and Tortured!Wesley are basically two parts of the whole.

So, you didn't say what you're hoping for in donations. I assume they take PayPal.

Just pledged

I would like some Willow/Giles...kinda like "Mad, Bad..." Along those lines, anyway.

Thank you.

Dammit, I wish people would stop turning up where I don't expect them. First Alryssa, now you. (What's more, I wish they'd stop doing it where the identity I'm posting with is one I'm not admitting is connected to the one they know me as.) :)

Another pledge

Talk about knowing your audience... That's the perfect bait to get me off my duff and actually pledge! (What's the saying? "I can resist anything except temptation?")

And Wesleyfic is very tempting... *grin*
