the Revlon Run-Walk -- one last call
Apr. 26th, 2004 11:37 amOkay, here's the deal. I set a goal for how much money I thought I could raise for this walk. I haven't reached it.
I hate falling short of goals, especially when they're this important.
So I'm going to steal shamelessly from
marinarusalka and offer the following deal:
Want a fic? Make a pledge. Then tell me whatcha want. I can offer Buffy-fic, Angelfic, SG-1 fic, Highlander-fic, Indiana Jones-fic, yes, even Probefic,
fgwriter. *grin* If you're not sure if I know it well enough to write it, just ask. (But no HP fic -- I think that's already been well covered by
marinarusalka.)
Ready, set... request!
(and remember that, while the walk is this weekend, pledges will be accepted up until the end of May!)

Wow
(Will definitely make a pledge regardless, but just curious:
how do you feel about Dune and Tolkien?)
Have a good walk!

Date: 2004-04-26 09:56 am (UTC)Really, that's a brilliant bribe, and I have responded. I gave you the same amount as I've spent on books since the year began - seemed appropriate for the Fellowship of Scribes. (Loved the title!)

Date: 2004-04-26 11:33 am (UTC)(I don't really need one. It's just the principle of the thing that made me have to comment. *grin*)
Re: Wow
Date: 2004-04-26 11:35 am (UTC)And I have to admit that I won't be walking... I have a Previous Business Commitment in Oklahoma City, and the plane connection timing sucks no matter how I try to figure it. But I've been in training, and others in the team have agreed to carry the names I've been given, so (like the March last Sunday) I feel I'll be there in spirit if not in flesh)

Re: Wow
I can do Tolkien, but beware it would be snarky Tolkien.
Snarky Tolkien? W00t!
*grin* Dune not so good on.
Fair enough, mais, I actually meant Dune and Tolkien, as in:
As
:o)

Not a problem - you contribute in what way you can best do so.
As Edsger Dijkstra once said: Do only what only you can do.

A good way to be, quoth Obi-Wan and Muad'dib both.

Date: 2004-04-26 12:44 pm (UTC)Of course, LittleBoyLost!Wesley and Tortured!Wesley are basically two parts of the whole.
So, you didn't say what you're hoping for in donations. I assume they take PayPal.
Re: Wow
Date: 2004-04-26 12:46 pm (UTC)The Elves would have known. Had there been any left to ask.
But Elves went out of the world, and Spice came in, and Merry was thinking it was not a fair trade, no not a fair trade at all.
Like that? (I'm torn as to where that's going. Either Gimli shows up, or Nigella does, and things will get weird from there... *grin*)
It's the Kwisatz Haderach - literally!
Ma'am, that is brilliant, as are you.
Two Jedi hobbit thumbs up.

LOL!
I can see the Breelander raid on Sietch Tuqbara now...
Poor little Elanor, ickle hobbit abomination.
:g: I must admit, that puts the "Shortening of the Way" in quite a new light.
Thumpers... thumpers in the deep... they are coming.

Date: 2004-04-27 07:28 am (UTC)And I have no idea about the paypal situation. You can donate via credit card on the site, I know, or by check if you send it to me to send to them in some arcane dance that makes sense to them, I guess...
Another pledge
Date: 2004-04-29 01:21 pm (UTC)And Wesleyfic is very tempting... *grin*
