So. I now have the French edition of BURNING BRIDGES (aka La magicienne du feu). It is very pretty. This makes me happy. I am still without a copy of their edition of STAYING DEAD. This makes me sad....

And this... y'know, I don't even know where to begin mocking this. So I hand it over to you, my trusty readers, to mock it for me. Have at it! Entertain me!

(seriously. it is almost unbearably mock-worthy)

EtA: a sample from the text: "Unlike my former editor, neither me or my editing staff claim the right to exercise ‘’poetic’’ or ‘’artistic’’ license in order to change our contributor’s story content or story titles, with the belief it would ‘’ benefit the magazine’’ to do so."

Um...er...ah.... riiiight. *gets out the barrel and the shotgun for the extra-large fishies*

That can't be real, and whoever the satirist is, I'd advise pulling back a little from the line between hilarious and overdone.

all of our contributors will have the option of asking our editorial staff to for their services, but it will not be a mandatory requirement., if said contributor believes their piece can stand on it’s own merit.

That is unbearably awesome.

(I'm not sure they understand what editors do....)

Clearly not.

Umm...if they're not going to edit, what is it the editors are going to do? Maybe more alcohol will help me understand?

No, I doubt it.

Maybe the editors are saving up their energy to edit their own webpage.

Or maybe not.

Yes, I am so going to submit my writing to their non-paying site so it can be edited by geniuses like that. Why, it's almost more rewarding than writing fanfiction. Oh, wait.

Really, the only thing which could possibly make this better is if they charged a reading fee...

The part that's blowing my mind is the implication that grammar is a moral imperative.

Oh, dear Lord! That was priceless! I would begin at the beginning and go on from there, but that would be terribly time-consuming. I like this part:

"We do not, at any time, ignore the usual rules of grammer, meter, etc., for our own personal benefit."

Or for anyone else's benefit or the benefit of the story. Only to make us mock.

I love the EZ Pass icon.

Given the level of expertise their home page demonstrates, I don't think their editing would benefit the magazine either. It certainly wouldn't benefit the contributors.

LOL, on so many levels! And all in 8 words. I can't decide whether me should either laugh nor cry.

I'm stuck on the fact that they can't decide if they're abbreviated NVF or NVH. We won't edit you, and we won't tell you our name.
