when a reader Gets It...
May. 5th, 2008 04:33 pmsomewhere an author earns her wings.
I ran across this reader-review of Free Fall that, despite giving me only 3/5 stars and pointing out a weakness that yes, I knew about but couldn't quite fix, made me do the authorial chair dance of glee, because, damn it, he got it.
The review itself is detailed in a spoilery way, but the chairboogie-causing line is: "It's an audacious plot and a strong character story as [Wren] wrestles with the morality and consequences of what she's doing."
Yes. Oh, yes. Very, very much yes. Happily Ever After in no way guarantees Easily Ever After.
*goes back to work thinking maybe, just maybe, she knows what she's doing after all...*
