the storm they've been promising all day finally rolled in, with a gust of cold air, and a rumble of thunder, and the squalk of a squad car passing by. The curtains are belling, and the cats are nervously looking around at me for reassurances.

let it rain, rain, rain!

(yes, I know a lot of people don't like storms. I'm not one of them. I respect the hell out of them [see me. see me indoors where it's safe, working off battery power.] but I really of love storms of every sort... if there's anything of me in Wren a'tall, it's that, yah youbetcha)

Really heavy pounding rains are crazy fun for me, too, especially when Iu have a good creepy book to keep myself busy.

Respect is a bit of the reason for that; they're just freaking powerful and it's cool to be in the middle of something like that. For me, anyway, storms are also a "as long it doesn't hurt anyone" sort of fun. 8)

Wow, a thunderstorm actually hit New Haven?! That hasn't happened in, like, three years!!

(Seriously, it's freakish how of late they all just die at the city line. Makes one wonder about what witchcraft/wizardry is in effect.)

We had a great storm yesterday too...drove poor Aeowyn right out of her window seat. The garden looks happy as do all the lilacs. And (I don't mean to jinx myself) but as the summer comes to a close we're all grateful that there wasn't a big forest fire to contend with.

I wish you'd send some of it down here to the valley. It's just not fair, being able to see you getting rained on, and nothing here, except the odd lightning strike that took out our power the other day. *sulk*
