weather update
May. 16th, 2007 04:35 pmWind had been picking up all afternoon, but the sky was merely overcast with occasional sun. Thunder started about fifteen minutes ago, and suddenly someone turned out the lights. I got the windows closed just before the rain started -- it's currently lashing at the windows like it's pissed it can't get in.
Our first thunderstorm of the season. *is gleeful* I suspect we're in for a night of rolling rain fronts.
Update: Yep, looks to be rolling fronts. This is going to be fun, she said without a trace of sarcasm.
(and of course, ten minutes before I get an e-mail -- "wanna go out tonight?" Excellent timing, C. Really. :-P )

Date: 2007-05-16 10:47 pm (UTC)I used to be pathologically frightened of thunder - it verged on a phobia. Reason was, alas, a sound one: thunder too often means lightning, and there's nothing like seeing three teenage boys on a soccer pitch in southern England die in front of you when lightning strikes the pitch and finds the huge old forgotten water conduit pipe less than a foot below the dirt.
Nowadays, I just tend to jump. But I'll never enjoy it.
Luckily for me, even in winter, SF rarely gets thunder and lightning. For that, you'd want the hills across the Bay Bridge.
