I am a total waste of meat today.
I've tried to work on four different projects. No go. No juice at all. I can't even read critically for the line edit.
I hereby declare this Give Myself a Break Day.
This does not, alas, mean that I don't get to do any work. I have cleaned, and made some appointments. There's a spreadsheet that needs to be updated, and bills to be paid, and laundry to be done, and all that other stuff that doesn't require any sort of creative or critical thinking.
But, damn it, I hate it when I can't hit my mark.
ETA: it was pointed out to me that I put in billable hours this morning, before breakfast. So it's not a total write-off. But am still cranky.
ETA2: and, after giving myself permission to Not Accomplish, my brain decided to come back on-line and play nice for a few hours after dinner. Now it wants to gogogo when my body (having gotten exercise and activity) wants to sleepsleepsleep. Figures.

Date: 2007-03-19 09:14 pm (UTC)(I based that on a study a few years ago that said the average office worker got about three-four hours of 'real' work done around lunch, meetings, chit-chat and other distractions in an average work day)
*which means any day that I'm not otherwise claimed by personal obligations and/or officially on vacation.
