mmmm....carbs....
Feb. 22nd, 2004 10:18 amMade waffles for breakfast today, served up with raspberry sauce instead of the evil-to-me maple syrup. Refrained from overeating beyond my two-waffle capacity, mainly 'cause I know I can have the leftovers for lunch. Now curled up in a carb-induced coma, sipping that gift of the gods, constant comment tea and waiting to get my brain into writing mode…
Also made stir-fry for dinner last night.
3/4 lb sliced beef
2 cloves garlic, minced
fresh ginger, minched
1/2 C. red wine (okay, I used a cheap blush we had left over from something else)
1/2 C. soy sauce
1 T. cornstarch
1 onion, sliced
1 red pepper, shredded
1 green pepper, shredded
2 stalks of celery, chopped
Put the beef in a bowl and mix over it the red wine, soy sauce, garlic, ginger and cornstarch. Let sit for about fifteen minutes (be cooking the rice in the meanwhile). Heat up a large wok with safflower or canola oil. When popping, cook the meat mixture for about three minutes. Add the onion and cook until translucent. Add the peppers and celery, cook for about two minutes or until celery becomes slightly translucent and the skin of the peppers is starting to wilt slightly. Add another splash of soy sauce if you want. Serve over a bed of white rice.
I am often the harshest critic of my own cooking (no, really. Shocking but true). This was fabulous. And healthy, too! >
And here’s my fortune for the weekend:
Yeah yeah that’s what they all say.
And I have discovered that there are jobs that I just can’t take, for reasons of self-preservation. Saw this ad on a board yesterday:
I have written a book. Pitched it and am getting a publisher hook up...
Now this is the deal:
I have no proper grammer training, don't follow any specific rules etc..
Basically I wrote this three hundred some odd page book and have no idea how this hook up worked.. I knew someone that knew someone etc..
I can't just hand it in this way. I know it needs editing bad. I'm not looking for someone who is going to re-write my book. Simply edit the punctuations etc..
If your interested email me a quote and we'll talk!!
Tell me that’s not heartache and frustration waiting to land on someone?
And in other news, “Serpent’s Rock” (the short story I’ve been working on) is done. I am halfway through my proof-read. I’m up to chapter nine (with chapter ten drafted out) on Retrievers #2 and a) I’m where I should be world-count-wise, and b) I think maybe it doesn’t suck. Oh, and I got the contract from Realms of Fantasy. Yayyyyy!
That is all. I am still in carb bliss, and think I will use it to get the office cleaned up. Cleaning burns calories, right?

Follow-up to deleted post from "Kyle"
Date: 2004-02-22 08:43 am (UTC)A thread has been deleted for being either remarkably tacky PR, or an attempt to stir up hate and bigotry. Or, possibly, both. Either way, it's gone, and I spologize for anyone who had to read it.
And if the person who posted it comes back here again, congratulations, you managed to do the exact opposite of what you hoped to accomplish.
