the good:

Am halfway through proofs for Bring it On and, boy-howdy, it don't suck.

(someone pick [livejournal.com profile] kradical up off the ground, please).

the bad:

Due to various complications, interruptions and social breaks, I am only halfway through. Bugger. More coffee!

(hrm. Maybe I should have some food, too...)

the why me, lord:

I just had a full-blown, vitally important, totally kick-ass scene leap full-born into my head, replete with screaming, yelling, frothing, paw-wringing and pathos. For gorram book FIVE.

Telling my brain that I need to finish a) proofing three and b) drafting book four first isn't appeasing it, either. We wants to write this scene now, we does. Even though we have no idea how it will work or fit in or flow at all.

Gorram backbrain.

Did you leave cookies and milk on the nightstand for the Clue Fairy, bebe? Of COURSE it doesn't suck. I read it, remember?

For gorram book FIVE.

I'd sympathise with you, but I'm too busy trying not to design the tour for my own book five.

Oh, do I feel your pain. I am presently trying to rewrite the scene that I *did* give in and write about a book-and-a-half ahead of schedule. It feels like performing neurosurgery to try and make it work now, and all the energy that made it so easy and natural the first time has mysteriously vanished in the interim. Grr.

That's good though. Means the characters have lots more to say and are alive and well and ... well, kicking ass.
