In 2003, I participated in the Revlon Run/Walk for Women. I found it such a wonderful experience that I’m doing it again this year.

Q: What is the Revlon Run/Walk for Women?

A: Created in 1993 through the committed and collective efforts of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, Lilly Tartikoff, Ronald O. Perelman, and The Davis Group, the Revlon Run/Walk For Women has grown to become one of the nation's largest 5K fundraising events. To date, the Run/Walks (LA/NY) have raised over 22 million dollars for cancer research, counseling, and outreach programs. 100% of the monies raised go directly to research.

Q: How does this affect YOU?

A: It is estimated that one in eight American women will develop breast cancer at some point in her life. In 2002, 272,000 women will have died from cancer. Behind this staggering statistic is the face of a woman who needs your help - a mother, a wife, a sister, a friend.

And men, too, are at risk!

Q: What can you do?

A: Donate.

Go to https://www.revlonrunwalk.com/ny/secure/MyWebPage.cfm?pID=142220 and follow the very simple instructions there on how to make a donation.* The site is a bit generic as of yet because they’re not quite finished with the site. But you can still make a donation! Please note that this is a single sum donation, not per-kilometer.

And on behalf of all the women (and men!) who have, have survived, or are at risk for breast cancer, I thank you.

* If you don’t feel comfortable using the site, I can also accept checks. E-mail me for details.

currently the opening lines of chapter four...

“There’s fur on my teeth.”
“That’s a lovely image, thank you so much for sharing.”
“Quite welcome. I need my toothbrush. Or some sandpaper.”
“Wait until we’re through customs, okay?”
“If I breathe on a customs inspector they’re not going to let us into the country.”
“Wren, I’ve smelled your morning breath. It’s not that bad. It’s not good, but it’s not that bad.”
“This is worse. This is overnight-in-an-airplane morning breath.”

Wren's so not a good traveller...

writing update: 1,600 words done today. Go me! Total for the week: 4,625. Not as good as I'd hoped for, but there's still tomorrow...
