lagilman: coffee or die (just sayin' - Nate)

This week has been.... difficult. In fact, you could say with entire truthfulness that Mercury Retrograded its way through this week like a maddened buffalo.

But it's over, and I'm going to ignore the fact that Merc remains retrograde for a while longer (for those who do believe in such things, I imagine you'll be keeping score of the blown calls by officials during the Super Bowl?), and pretend that all that's behind me now....

(shush.  I keel you doubters with the power of my brain)

Meanwhile, we have discovered one of the things that can keep me from my morning coffee: 11 pounds of purring feline draped over me. As the Kitten gets older, he's becoming more and more of a snugglebutt. An occasionally manic, parkour-loving snugglebutt, but a snugglebutt.

I heartily endorse this development. Even if it delays my coffee a bit.

An occasionally manic, parkour-loving snugglebutt

Doesn't that just describe all cats :)

Purring snugglebutts are very nice in the winter. I miss cats, but one member of the household is allergic, sigh. I'm hoping when we relocate that we'll eventually get one who invites himself into the house. It is a good place for indoor/outdoor kitties. Well, except for wolves, coyotes, and mountain lions.

Eh, the house is a bit small for an indoor/outdoor cougar. Plus the hunting dogs next door might be obnoxious. There are neighborhood kitties, though, and they're pretty tough. Our late great Cthulhu Cat the Snake Killer, King of All He Surveyed (in his mind, anyway) came from Enterprise and he was a prime example of the type.

I wonder if it's a black cat thing? At about 18 months, Pumba also decided to expand his daily activities with a morning snuggle, ideally keeping the human hot water bottle immobile indefinitely. :-)
