political reshuffling continues.
Nov. 30th, 2004 01:28 pmTom Ridge has resigned.
Wow. Maybe I missed the obvious signs, but that one surprised me, when compared to the other f/l/e/e/i/n/g/ /r/a/t/s/ resignations.

Date: 2004-11-30 11:08 am (UTC)Well, yes. Not surprising for the Shrub.
I found it interesting that my parents (once staunch Republicans) now detest the man in office and are afraid for their civil liberties. Knowing how adamantly they argued against my liberal beliefs in the past, this is both heartening (that they are mellowing) and frightening that even die-hards are changing.
Curiouser and curiouser...

Date: 2004-11-30 11:20 am (UTC)That can't be true! The Bush tax cuts have revitalized the economy! To suggest that a Cabinet-level official can't make ends meet would imply that anyone making less than six figures annually would be in truly dire straits! Clearly, these "friends of Ridge" are really anti-American terrorists...

Date: 2004-11-30 11:38 am (UTC)I spent the rest of the day looking for confirmation that I wasn't seeing things, and I finally saw buried deep in an article on Ann Veneman resigning that CNN had gotten a report from someone close to Ridge that he was leaving, but they couldn't confirm it with the White House so they weren't running with it.
Heck they were just two weeks early!
