No, not really. But kind of.

I would disagree with their #6 (I prefer to exercise early afternoon, when my energy levels begin to sink) but otherwise.... yeah, occasionally I do agree with Forbes. Or at least some of their columnists.

And now, let the War of the Early Birds and Night Owls recommence!

"Research has shown, not only are early risers more optimistic and conscientious, they also anticipate problems and minimize them more efficiently."

I can be an early rise if I need. And I do get more done then.
I also get more stressed and anxious. This looks like one of those articles where a journalist gets hold of a piece of research and simplifies it hugely.

I went to bed earlier.

there is a percentage of people who are hardwired to be nocturnal, they are the ones guarding the gates and keeping the fires burning while everyone else sleeps.

I exercise, I get tired, and if I did that in the morning, my day would be shot.

I am very productive in the late afternoon, early evening. Or after midnight.. I dont know how many times I wish I could mow my lawn at 1am despite it being too dark or the neigbhors might object, I am ready for it!

If I'm supposed to be one of the optimists, then there are a lot more depressed people out there than I thought...

Hmm... aside from #1, which is total BS (Getting up an extra hour early would necessitate going to bed an extra hour early - so where is this supposed 25th hour coming from?), all of these habits can be applied no matter what time you get up.

If you get up at noon, you can still visualize your day, eat breakfast, take care of your biggest task(s) first, use a mantra, exercise, plan snacks, clear clutter, and go to bed at a time that allows you to get enough rest. And regarding silence, well, in my area at least, 2-3am is just as silent as 4-5am. Even mid-morning is usually pretty quiet.

Unfortunately, I fit the "Lethargic" sleep type - I'm neither a morning nor an evening person: http://bigthink.com/ideafeed/beyond-night-owls-and-early-risers-two-new-sleep-types-discovered
