Things learned:

1. The multi-colored kitchen cloth is too thin to use as a proper pot-grabber (unlike the solid-color ones)

2. My scone pan will not break, even when dropped.

3. Burns HURT (ok, I knew that already)

4. Audrey3 gives up her sap quite beautifully (that's my monster Aloe plant, for those who missed that story)

5. Even ice and aloe aren't making this hurt any less. Ok, a little less. And hopefully no blistering. And thankfully it's just the tip of one finger. But can I say - OW!

6. No I do not immediately run to the internet to report such things. I take care of the damage, first. THEN I report in.

My father used to chide Mom on still experimenting, after fifty years, to prove that pans can be hot and knives can be sharp. Good to see that the scientific method continues to work.

*sympathy*

I use a husband, when possible. We have nifty new oven gloves, but I seem to have a real knack for burning myself on whatever is available.

My sympathy on the burn. I hope it heals quickly. Aloe plants are wonderful.

Ow. Must be something in the stars ... another friend reported that she picked up the cast-iron pan no fewer than 3 times last night with the hand the potholder glove wasn't on.

A couple months ago I did the same thing with a pot lid. I still don't have full sensation in one fingertip. Yay, nerve damage!!

I am sad to say that I am testing this out: 208 F water for tea spilled on my woolly socked foot. Grumph.

At least this post was fresh in my mind! =D

Grumph.
