a writing/publishing update -- paranormal romance issue

Working on "The Rat King" (title def. to change). Interesting, the issues I thought this story was going to deal with haven't appeared yet. The issues I thought it would barely glance on? Front and center.

This is why I write, 'cause my stories surprise and enlighten me when I write 'em, too. Also, cheaper than therapy for digging out what's quietly eating at you.

It's very retro. I think they were afraid of incurring the Weirdness Factor if they showed him, even slightly, in his seal form?

I think the greenish light on his shoulders was intended to communicate something otherworldly or other-creaturely.

Her hair has a life of its own. Or maybe she's just been thrown down and her hair is still flying.... Okay, okay, I'm reaching.
