The bundle is available for a very limited time only, via http://www.storybundle.com. It allows easy reading on computers, smartphones, and tablets as well as Kindle and other ereaders via file transfer, email, and other methods - you get multiple DRM-free formats (.epub and .mobi) for all books!

It's also super easy to give the gift of reading with StoryBundle, thanks to our gift cards – which allow you to send someone a code that they can redeem for any future StoryBundle bundle – and timed delivery, which allows you to control exactly when your recipient will get the gift of StoryBundle.

So that's what it is. WHY should you Storybundle?

• Get quality reads in one convenient package.
• Pay what you choose (minimum $5): If you can only spare a little, that's fine! You'll still get access to a batch of exceptional titles.
• Support authors who support DRM-free books:  Supporting authors who let you read their books on any device you want—restriction free—will show everyone there's nothing wrong with ditching DRM.
• Give to worthy causes: Bundle buyers have a chance to donate a portion of their proceeds to charity.
(Our charity, The Pearl Foundation, promotes education by endowing scholarships. The scholarships focus on returning students, who have been away from school for more than five years. Those students need a lot of financial assistance because they often have families, mortgages, and all those other expenses of adulthood.)
• Receive extra books: If you beat our the bonus price, you'll get the bonus books!

StoryBundle was created to give a platform for independent authors to showcase their work, and a source of quality titles for thirsty readers. StoryBundle works with authors to create bundles of ebooks that can be purchased by readers at their desired price. Before starting StoryBundle, Founder Jason Chen covered technology and software as an editor for Gizmodo.com and Lifehacker.com.

No, wait, until the STORYBUNDLE offer ends. Right.

13 more hours to pick up ELEVEN stories of world-breaking adventure from authors such as Kevin J Anderson, Dean Wesley Smith, Chris Mandeville, John Joseph Adams, and oh yeah...me, PLUS a bonus issue of LIGHTSPEED - all DRM-free for your reading convenience.

(that comes to less than $2 per read. You couldn't even get the issue of LIGHTSPEED for that!)

Don't say I didn't tell you, after it's over, and everyone's reading except you.....
lagilman: coffee or die (almost-there dragon)
Two days left in this storybundle offer!

One of our favorite curators, Kevin J. Anderson, has put together a new bundle of 11 epic disaster novels that cover the gamut of What Can Go Wrong. Think of it as 50 Shades of Doom. But these aren't just tales of disaster...but tales of heroism, persistence, ingenuity, and survival. These are truly the best things to read while you're huddled underground in your bomb shelter (or just in your living room, in the meantime).

Pay what you want for the first five - and for $20 you'll get ELEVEN books, PLUS a bonus issue of LIGHTSPEED. That comes to about a buck-fifty per read!

DRM-free, so you can read them whenever and however you want.

(plus,-you'll be helping me buy a new, not-broken computer to write more stories on, because the money goes directly to the writers, not held for  6 months by the publisher, and my laptop had a hard drive failure last night that needs to be dealt with ASAP. Yes, I'll be that crass and talk about what's in it for me. :-)

When Kevin Anderson approached me about being part of the Storybundle for his Disasters collection, I was surprised - because I'd never thought of DRAGON VIRUS in that way before. I mean, disaster books are action-adventure stories, as a rule. DRAGON VIRUS has action, and it has adventure, and courage and tragedy and all that, but...a disaster story?

Well, yes.  Once I'd thought about it, yes.

dis·as·ter
dəˈzastər/
noun

  1. a sudden event, such as an accident or a natural catastrophe, that causes great damage or loss of life.
"159 people died in the disaster"

    • denoting a genre of films that use natural or accidental catastrophe as the mainspring of plot and setting.
      modifier noun: disaster
      "a disaster movie"

    • an event or fact that has unfortunate consequences.

From the extinction-bent Wheelies to the families struggling to survive when the rules keep changing, DRAGON VIRUS is about disaster... and how nothing emerges - or survives - unchanged. And how, scary as it seems at the time, no matter how we despair, change isn't the end.

Don't believe me? Pick up a copy a DRAGON VIRUS via Storybundle, and discover for yourself. And while you're at it, pick up ten other novels of disaster, courage, and change, too...

Everyone visiting went home, post-WorldCon.
Birthdays were celebrated (several times over).
It rained (finally!) and is still on-and-off-again raining.
We had a massive windstorm that knocked power out for a lot of people, area-wide.
I worked on two short stories that I intend to finish this week, damn it.
I posted my DragonCon schedule

oh, and I may have geebled a bit about the Major Disaster I'm involved in.... 11 stories of epic disaster, both natural and man-made, from some major names in the genre... and hey, ME!  It's a Storybundle, so you pay-what-you-want for the base level, but a few dollars more gets you another FIVE books....
