Electrical storm follow-up
Jul. 27th, 2009 01:29 pmDid a frame-by-frame of some of the video I took, and got these photographs. They were all taken the same stretch of road, within an hour's time.
three frames, one after another:

Please to notice, which I did not until going frame-by-frame, the bolt of lightning that hit the road just in front and to the left of us...
and, from the clip in the previous entry:

I really need an icon for "wow."
EtA: and some more, that also show the clouds better:

Date: 2009-07-27 06:37 pm (UTC)How do you isolate frames like that, and maintain image quality? I've got a bunch of video from events (mostly at the kids' school) where the still camera didn't operate properly. I'd love to isolate some frames so we could have "snapshots" in the album from those events.

I never plan on selling my photos, but on principle I won't agree to terms like that. It gives other folk the wrong ideas...

Date: 2009-07-27 10:44 pm (UTC)Is that real small "bolt" an artifact? If not, it looks like it's actually hitting your car in the third frame of the first set of pics.

Think the little bolt in the first 3 is a reflection between the various layers that make up the windshield. It's got the same contour as the Big Scary Bolt off in the distance.
Also glad you were not touched by His Noodly Appendage in quite the manner of noodly touching that was going on in that one.
