Electrical storm follow-up

Did a frame-by-frame of some of the video I took, and got these photographs. They were all taken the same stretch of road, within an hour's time.

Please to notice, which I did not until going frame-by-frame, the bolt of lightning that hit the road just in front and to the left of us...

How do you isolate frames like that, and maintain image quality? I've got a bunch of video from events (mostly at the kids' school) where the still camera didn't operate properly. I'd love to isolate some frames so we could have "snapshots" in the album from those events.

I was using Windows MovieMaker, but any basic vid manipulation software would work. You can isolate frame-by-frame, and then do a capture.

Not perverse at all, considering in at least one book (STAYING DEAD) the scene depicted was her "wild-sourcing" from a lightning storm....

Is that real small "bolt" an artifact? If not, it looks like it's actually hitting your car in the third frame of the first set of pics.

yeah, the shape of the bolt touching the ground in the second of the series is the same as the shape of the bolt in the first of the series and the portion of the bolt in the third looks to be the fading continuation of the bolt from the second frame.

Think the little bolt in the first 3 is a reflection between the various layers that make up the windshield. It's got the same contour as the Big Scary Bolt off in the distance.

Also glad you were not touched by His Noodly Appendage in quite the manner of noodly touching that was going on in that one.
