EtA: also: Word wants "straphanging" to be "trepanning." Wow that changes the scene rather drastically...
EtA2: for those of you who need another push to Twitter, Beth Riesgraf reports she has conned, er convinced Christian Kane to join. That seismic shift you just felt was the stampede of fangirls...

Date: 2009-07-24 10:17 pm (UTC)Twitter is the Short Attention Span Theater -- think mass texting, with everyone cross-cutting lines of communication. It's perfect for short (140 character) bursts of information, for getting things out to a lot of people in a hurry, and for chasing after trending topics and breaking news. Not so much for reflective thoughts or contemplation. Plus, a lot of actors seem to have embraced it as a way to keep fans up to date and entertained with minimal time investment. You can Twitter while you're waiting for your next take (Nathan Fillion likes to post 'tease' pictures during filming, for example)
(It is possible to post your Tweets on LJ and Facebook, and to link to your LJ posts on Facebook, but I haven't quite bought into that).
