And lo, the author is home from the Great Road Trip and Group Signing, and it was a blast. And the weather co-operated by pouring down and trapping everyone in the mall with nothing else to do except buy our books. Yay!

The Genre Mafia [East Coast Division} and store crew

Many many thanks to everyone who came out and bought books, and to [livejournal.com profile] fireun and crew who kept us going. For the record, about $25 was raised for the Broome County Animal Care Council [not including the authors who forgot to deposit their quarters -- bad authors! But one says she'll send a donation in on Monday, so yay!]

And now I am OMG Very Tired and going to fall over....

Oh, and if you've heard of the great mono-signature and wondered what it looked like?

EtA: in comparing stories at dinner, after, I am pleased to say that (other than the gentleman who was quite put out that I would not read his one-page story then and there) I had no crazies, arrogant jerks, or otherwise annoying people -- although the woman who refused to buy her pre-teen daughter any books did make me want to call Child Welfare services. That was nicely offset by the man who brought his daughter over to meet authors and buy books [after looking through them himself and checking with his wife].

I love the giant sig. None of my other books have a giant signature but yours! Always original!

The giant signature is an AWESOME idea and I intend to steal it! You're so cool!

Also, that's a *really* cute picture of you.

mall security and i...have an understanding.

(they actually breezed by every now and then to make sure no one was giving me trouble or running off with our stuff. they are nice folks like that.)

flood conditions were pretty wicked, especially in some of the towns further out. whew. glad folks got home safely!

Thanks for the mono-signature and fun to finally meet you.

Of course, on the return home, my anthology builder book had arrived, just hours too late for you to sign it . . . next time .

Meanwhile - packing continues - off to Delaware with many kitties.

hmm...i had at least one crazy. gentleman who was ranting and raving at the unfairness of purchasing books before going to get them signed. he was actually foaming a bit. i might have been spit on. awkward few moments.
other than that, i was nice and lucky, sitting there with my cash box and old fashioned sales receipts.

a woman was refusing to get books for the kid? blech. i was spoiled as a kid. if it was a book, and i wanted it, i could have it. that may explain my books first, groceries last habit...

he was a bit...off. not the usual customer crazy, so i didnt/dont worry about it.

i was trying to watch people, but man was it a bit busy at the checkout.

Oh, and officially I also offered to put in my money on the charity thing after the fact . . . but apparently I only hit the "reply" button and not the "reply all" button. But money will be added from my direction.

It was indeed a great time. We must attempt to repeat it (or do better) at the Paramus signing!

I totally couldn't keep track of all the stuff going on: raffle, push the books, postcards, magnets, quarters for charity, AH AH AH AH AH!! This is why I did not react to the zombie eating my brain.

I see I horned into your author shot with my HUGE . . . posterboard.
