2700 new words today.  More to come tonight, based on the way my brain's still buzzing.

Still raining. Cats growing moss.

[....]

All right, since it was requested earlier (and I'm so boring right now I make myself weep) let's throw this sucker open.

OPEN THREAD!

Ask whatever you want.  Comment on anything you think will interest/intrigue the group.  Post book or movie reviews you want us to know about.  Treat this as your rec room for the next, oh, 48 hours.

Just, as always, mind the 'gators.

I want to take advantage of your open thread to recommend a movie: The Fall. It stars that guy from Pushing Daisies, and it's gorgeous and heart-rending. The best way to watch it is to know very little about it before hand. Highly recommended.

Am happily reading Blood From Stone, and got to the point where someone mostly-unidentified, and probably a Null, was picking up his current pretzel (to eat it, or more precisely, to suck the salt off of it), but regardless of being pretty sure this was a Null, so I should have known better, my mind immediately tried to imagine what a Talent's Current-Pretzel might look like...all shiny and magical and possibly dangerous...and I wondered, what would a Talent use a Current-Pretzel for?

(sits quietly in the corner polishing the spot the ARC would have gone)

Nope. Nothing. Nothing at all to ask or say.

:P

Is this why you never call? Or write? Or visit? Or is it because I never gave you my phone number?

New author photo -- was it a pro shoot or a happy accident? Where was the pic taken?

I've been apprehensive about this situation all along. The ultra conservatives have all the guns, and have been running things to suit themselves (and perhaps their bank accounts). They are unlikely to give up even a modicum of power. The only question is what kind of ugly is this going to turn into.

**Tosses lots of raw chicken to the 'gators**

What would be the proper procedure to request your presence at a mixed sci-fi/fantasy convention in Naperville, IL? Would the request be posted to you, your agent, TOR? Does it have to be in conjunction with a book release/sales opportunity? Do you usually request a financial/room and board stipend? How much lead in time in usually expected with such a request?

Thank you for your consideration.
