First: galley slaves who are ready and able, let me know -- we've got more for you to read!

Second: it has come to this -- we need a scorecard to keep the damn books straight. So, until further notice:

The Retrievers series
STAYING DEAD -- 1.1
CURSE THE DARK -- 1.2
BRING IT ON -- 1.3
BURNING BRIDGES -- 1.4
FREE FALL -- 1.5
BLOOD FROM STONE -- 1.6

Paranormal Scene Investigations
HARD MAGIC -- 2.1
PACK OF LIES -- 2.2
UNTITLED -- 2.3

I haven't decided yet if the Vineart books are 3.x or some other category. What do y'all think? 3.1, or V.1?

Third: although I now have clean clothes and towels, I've been driven to kitchen sink stir-fry for dinner. I think this means it's time to go grocery shopping...

Fourth: I also stepped forward to help cat-herd a new project, and raised my hand to write two new stories with undefined but probably semi-soon deadlines, for two different projects. To quote [livejournal.com profile] mizkit, "meerkat, you dork."

and Fifth: I have a freelance thing I really need to do tonight. Oy. I think I'm going to crack open the new bottle o' Scotch and pour myself a wee dram of enthusiasm....

V.1 gives the impression that each volume is not complete in itself.

So if I go 'Volume 1' it's really true for that story?

I'm going with 3.x...

The implication is that there shall someday be 4.x, 5.x and so on...

Okay, then...

1.1.x Wren
1.2.x Bonnie
2.1.x Vineart
2.2.x The NYTBS sequel to Vineart

Does that make Poltergeist 0.1.x?

Wouldn't 2.2.x be parallel to Vineart, not sequential?

I wish I knew better, because then I'd shut up.

Nope. The first number represents the universe (Vineart). Second number is series in that universe, third number is book in series

You could always use R1- R6 for the Retrievers; PSI1- PSI3 for Pupi; and V1-V4 for Vineart.

I'm ready to be a galley slave, and I'd call Vineart 3.x.

I like V.1, or some other numbering system (A.1?) because as it stands, series 1 and series 2 take place in the same world, and 3.x would them imply the same universe -- to my AR little mind.

Ok, random, but it's been driving me crazy. Say there's this girl...like me...who has all the Retriever books except the first one because apparently it's out of print! How would this poor girl who REALLY wants to know what that much-coveted tome holds go about finding the aforementioned much-coveted tome?

She is gleefully delighted to have heard such news! YAY!

no complaining from you, not when you have Tim-Tams to have with your morning coffee. if anything, we're expecting an increase in your productivity while the cookies hold out.
