five things are exhausted
May. 11th, 2009 11:39 pm1. 5,000 new word day. Can haz cookie? (it was on two different project but still -- 5,000 words! New!) Also, one interview down and done. OMFG tired.
2. Castle. Yeah. Still processing, but feel free to squee and I'll get back to you with my flailing and nitpicking. NF still the yummiest.
3. House. OMG Egan.... *pets poor Gregory*
4. Here, have a Caption This! feline photo...

(is it just me, or does this photo remind anyone else of
ellen_datlow?)
5. I'm officially back to health -- taste buds have returned to normal. Dinner was paprika-and-graham crusted chicken breasts and green beans with fresh rosemary. Very yummy. Poured a Summerland Sauvignon blanc, which was an excellent choice; the green, citrusy freshness was a nice compliment to the herby beans and the delicate sweetness of the chicken. I need to remember to pick up some more of this for the rest of the summer's drinking.
And now I need to fall over. Oh, wait, I seem to have already done s..zzzz.....

Date: 2009-05-12 12:23 pm (UTC)1. Castle, his natural curiosity and his real concern for Beckett, digs into something he shouldn't.
2. Beckett warns him off with a very real, honest reason that he doesn't brush off or try to steamroller, even if he disagrees.
3. His mother, for once being totally serious and non-flighty [thereby showing that she can, when she has to be, and indicating that La Kid isn't just a fluke], warns him that he has to share what he found with Beckett, because it's Important, even if it means losing her friendship because he went against her wishes.
4. He mans up and does so, because it is Important, even though he knows it's gonna bring a world of hurt to them both.
Adults! Acting like Adults! Even when they're Male and Female Adults! And talking honestly and respecting each other even when they disagree, and not being cutesy or causing unnecessary complications to try and wriggle out of the consequences of their actions! Are we sure that this is network television?
That said, can we hold La Kid down and feed her a Twinkie? Or a Reuben sandwich with extra slaw? That kid needs some flesh on her bones before she breaks in two... [and yeah, she's young, etc. But it was seriously worrisome!]

Date: 2009-05-12 12:32 pm (UTC)This is probably why it's a bubble show. Too darned smart for network TV.
And yes, La Kid definitely needs a sandwich, but how refreshing was it to see a fifteen year-old looking like a fifteen year-old in her thoroughly appropriate formal and not like a thirty-five year-old jaded divorcée?
