var & sundry
Jun. 9th, 2004 06:04 amYesterday was our first 90-degree day. Today the heat index will hit 100,
and we've got an ozone warning.
It may be a very long, a/c-intensive summer....
(and no, I'm not happy about this. At all. Wilting suri.)
On the other hand, when I went into the city last night to have an excellent and nicely long dinner with
greeneyedkzin and
kefiraahava, it was the very best of a languid summer night without any of the icky parts (IOW, everything still smelled of green and growing, not garbage and exhaust). I'm only sorry I had to come back, because it was a perfect night to stroll through the Village and check out the cafe society.
In other news, finishing up a bunch of d.y.m.k. projects so that I can start new ones, and likewise writing projects. No rest for the wearily wicked -- or should that be wickedly weary? Either way, busy busy busy...
currently plotting: a short story
currently reading: INNOCENTS ABROAD, Gene Wolfe.
currently re-reading: A LETTER OF MARY, Laurie King (I'm working my way through the entire series)
currently watching: the new season of Celebrity Poker has started!
