Nothing got closed in this, it didn't get dropped or stepped on (unless Boomer decided to sit on it, which is possible...). It was merely packed into my bad and put in the car and taken up to Boston....

If you're not looking to take this as a chance to upgrade, I have one of those (in black) in a drawer that I bought when they came out and never ended up using - I keep meaning to figure out where to sell it, but I know there are newer models out, so I'm sure I wouldn't get hardly anything for it :)
it is (was), and I've decided to upgrade, yeah. You might want to think about donating it to your local school or library? It was designed after the "one laptop per child" model, after all....
