Day One, fini.

The workmen have left and, much to my surprise and amusement, it was Pandora who was out and about first. Boomer is still in his hideyhole, wide-eyed and nervous.



I've taken photos, but figure I'll wait until there are several stages to show, and then do a single cut-tagged post, so folk who aren't interested can click on by.

Meanwhile, proving that if it weren't for bad timing we'd have none at all, I got an e-mail from Mam'selle Editrix informing me that the copy-edit for Flesh & Fire is en route... and due back Monday. And this weekend's Lunacon. Of course. Good thing I set up the caffeine providers in my office, for the duration..



Back to beating chapter nine into shape....

Awwww, poor putty. Boomer's gonna have a tough week, I suspect.

And you're going to have a challenging week yourself, copyedit, renovation and convention all together. You lucky girl!

And the messenger just brought the anticipated, due-back-Monday CEM. Should I open it, and sleep on the trauma, or wait until morning?

I am still boggled that you will get your kitchen redone in a week, thats almost unheard of. Well, in Oregon that is.

Assuming we don't run into any "uh-oh" moments, it will probably be closer to ten-twelve days, since there will be time-out for the weekend (my building doesn't allow for construction over the weekend, which I completely agree with) and allowing for the delivery of the stove, countertop, etc. If they were going full-out, and everything was already staged, it would be done in a week easy. Time is money, and they already know I ain't paying them overtime. :-)

But yeah. A small kitchen is sometimes a blessing, as is the fact that I'm not moving any of the plumbing or gas lines around.

I watch Design Tech when its on, and even tho its Brooklyn dudes, it gives me an entirely different view of the world out there when they remodel. That and no elevators..

he still is -- especially since he went into the kitchen, freaked, tried to escape,and got tangled in the plastic sheeting over the door. Poor thing.... he's off his feed.

Pandora, on the other hand, is totally mellow, sniffing around the changes and then retiring to her usual perch to watch me type.
