been so stressed and flail-y lately, I decided when I woke up this morning to list some things that are good and soothing.

1. the ability to think "I want to listen to this song" and being able to find it immediately, without having to sort through an entire collection of cds (the song in question this morning, btw, was "Dead Man's Rope")

2. knowing that I have Lynn Flewelling's latest book on my hard drive, just waiting to be read. *is gleefuul fangirl*

3. waking in the morning to the kittens snuggled with me, peacefully sleeping, aware that All's Well With the World because mommy's here.

4. the knowledge that my best beloveds are all safely accounted for.

5. a cup of really good coffee waiting on my desk.

What's your five?

uhm!

1. I finished my animation course. I've just got assignments to hand in and then I'm scot free.

2. I go to the doctors on monday to find out what the hell is wrong with me and hopefully fix it! \o/

3. I got Resident Evil 5 today.

4. I'm nearly finished the short, pathetic novel I'm writing for a friend

5. I'm getting back into the swing of art!

oh wow, y'know what? Typing that all out just made my day feel that much better. Thank you.

3. I'm reading a good book (The Vampire's Bride by Gena Showalter, if anyone's curious).
4. I'm planning a bookstore spree.
5. I haven't bitchslapped anyone today (though I've been tempted).

Five good, soothing things.

1. A lapful of purring Siamese.
2. A harp standing nearby, ready to be played.
3. The prospect of a weekend roadtrip with my sister that includes a stop in New Britain's Polish neighborhood (Should have been "New Krakov," imo, but no one asked me....)
4. The prospect of my boys coming home from college next week for spring break.
5. My garden is starting to wake up. Things are sprouting, crocuses are blooming.

Umm...

1. Cute kitten pictures (http://www.theittybittykittycommittee.com/2009/03/this-black-cat-can-cross-my-path-any.html).
2. Caffeine, in the form of a soy mocha.
3. High temps in the upper 40s and 50s this weekend (for Minneapolis in March, that's great).
4. An unobligated weekend of reading and knitting stretching ahead of me.
5. Being able to sleep in for the next two mornings.

5 good and soothing things from Stressville:

1. hot bubble baths

2. tropical fruit wine

3. knowing the cops arrested the nearby couple who tried to rob a Walmart - the husband has been jailed twice for felony convictions -- WAIT - this one remains stressful ! so...

(substitute 3) ice cream sandwiches -- much more soothing than #3 above

4. knowing it wasn't Rena (my daughter) who had the heart attack and died enroute to Taiwan (sadly, it was a guy across the aisle from her)

5. gigantic fish pillows to hug at night

1. sleeping in Saturday morning, then getting a cup of coffee before I watch a wonderfully crappy SciFi Original movie.
2. the right glasses so I can read without thinking about reading.
3. each time I see my grandchildren and their faces light up and they shout, "Grandma!"
4. playing Nancy Drew computer games with my daughter.
5. my dog, Bo, a very large, very fluffy collie, bringing me his toy frog so we can play.

You know, they're might be more. I feel better. Thanks, suri!
