Happiness is...

Happiness is making it to Friday and not killing even the people who needed killin'.
Happiness is having a rockin' wine store...that delivers for free. From Manhattan. Seriously. And no, I didn't spend that much money! (the per-bottle came to about $16. Er, excluding That One Bottle).
Happiness is starting out the day feeling very meh on the work front...and then coming to the end of the day and discovering that, in addition to getting a list o' things crossed off, you've also put down almost 2000 new words.
Happiness is waking up and knowing you've got a fun day, sprinkled with occasional work, and social stuff for the evening spread out ahead of you.
Happiness is having a 20-pound puma-wannabe climb into your lap and start purring, while the 8 pound Duchess sprawls across your desk, carefully not blocking the monitor like a good little girl
What's your Happiness is...?

I am willing to be taxed on my nonessential luxury goods. But give me options, damn it!

Happiness would be getting a lot done, but that hasn't happened all week. I'll be working this weekend. *sigh*

Date: 2009-02-27 02:31 pm (UTC)A 2 hour delay to go to school this morning. I should take a nap, but instead I had the time to leisurely read LJ as well as work on a long section of the Short Story Threatening To Become A Novel--or Novella--or Novelette--or whatever it is.
I'm so with you on making it to Friday without killing anyone--and I had two sick days in this week!
Happiness is also knowing that the book you need for an online writing class has just appeared at the closest Powell's, which means there's an excuse to go to Powell's today (even if it is the suckiest Powell's for sf/f of the chain)! And buy more tea at the tea store near Powell's.

Happiness is definitely a purring kitten snuggled up next to me :)
Happiness is knowing all the bills are paid and I can still go out to dinner and buy the newest LAG book when it comes out :-D

Date: 2009-02-27 03:13 pm (UTC)Booze delivered to my door...I'm not sure if that would be a good thing. But, it would certainly be a happy thing! Alas, they do not do that in Nova Scotia.

Date: 2009-03-01 12:45 am (UTC)Yeah, we used to do OTB night - it was an excellent way to remind us not to "save for some other time" when we could be enjoying it now. I've kind of internalized that philosophy, since then... too many "other times" never come, and I refuse to be left with "why didn't I?" regrets.

Date: 2009-03-01 12:55 am (UTC)Oh! Plus I admired the mass market editions of "Bring It On" and "Curse the Dark" on the New Arrivals rack at Uncle Hugo's earlier today. I already have the trades, so...
