(now, if they could just make it flexible enough to roll up and shove in a bag, we'd finally be living in the Future)

Unfortunately it won't be out until at least sometime in 2010, according to Plastic Logic's site. With the improvments to the Kindle, version 2, it might be that Plastic Logic have left it too late. I may well be getting a Kindle 2 instead of this one, unless PL come out with a price point soon. From what I have read, pricing may not even be announced for close to a year from now.

You know, when I first encountered a friend's Palm in college, everyone stared at us, aghast, as we squeed over the Trekkish possibilities of it. "It's like a PADD!" "Oh, I want one! I want a PADD!"

Now every time I see touchscreen and ereader anything anywhere, I can't help but think of that college conversation.

*makes grabby hands* I want one of those. I just wish they'd put a price tag on it so I could see if it's remotely reasonable.

You mean, I might have something more portable than my Eee to read ebooks someday? neat. (I can't stand kindles. They're far too expensive for something just for reading.)

Mostly stopping in cause [livejournal.com profile] otterdance said to let you know we like your books. ....I like your books. Thank you. Have a nice day.

Hmm, it seems very cool, but the first thing I thought about was breaking it. It seems more breakable/bend around somethingable than a reader that is paperback size.

But it looks like it would be so much easier to read periodicals and documents at that size.

So I was looking through some of the other videos about paper thin color displays and Sony has one that can be flexed, it's not very big yet, but it's getting there.

It's too big for me. I can't imagine carrying something that big around to read all the time.
