And so we start the day by printing out mss. for FLESH AND FIRE so the cat can sleep on it, thereby making it Official, and trying to decide what I'm going to read tonight at the NYRSF reading (7pm tonight, South Street Seaport Museum, 12 Fulton Street NYC). *rummages through material, muttering disjointedly*

Of course, if we have a mini-Snowpocalypse and nobody comes, I shall be Very Sad. :-(



In other news, I've finally made a risotto that satisfied me for taste and texture.

Readings in NYC are rare on the ground...they seem to prefer out-of-towners and Lit'ry Types, not us entertaining hacks.

Does the cat sleep on the printed MSS because of its fresh-out-of-the-fuser warmth? Or just because it is some sort of Writer With Cat(s) Rule that no manuscript shall be submitted without suitable application of cat hair?

I have a bird, and haven't had cats around since P & A moved out of my 2nd bedroom of my last apartment in roughly 1996 and took DumbS*** and EvilKit with them. I haven't had even partial ownership of cats since She Who Will Not Be Named Lest She Appear left and took Blimp-O-Kitty with her at the end of 1994. So I don't have recent experience with The Cat Nature.
