Home from a weekend away on our annual retreat to Long Island to visit wineries with friends. It was a somewhat strange weekend, for a variety of interpersonal reasons, but I think a good time was had by most. Some nice meals, an interesting selection of wines (although I find much less to my taste these days), and a veritable hit (ow!) at one of the antique places that resulted in me hitting the ATM up for 'let's make a deal' cash transactions. But I now own a 1940's gold watch that I love very very much. :-) (and if anyone knows anything about old watches, I'd love to pick your brain...)

Anyway, home now to deal with stuff that piled up while I was away. And then I shall fall over and die for a day or two. Except, oops, I can't. More stuff to do (and yes, fic to post!).

Busy is good. Busy is survival. Oy.

I've done a little 'net searching, and there're only a few sites dealing with antique Hamilton watches, especially ladies' watches. It's frustrating. I'm used to being able to find at least a hint of what I need via the Internet. I feel like a friend has let me down, somehow.
