I'm thinking it must have been just before the move downstairs...? (I couldn't remember which office it was either, sad to say. The memory, it's the second thing to go...)

Lord, I remember those days. And that office. Speaking of which, remember Maggie Sutherland? I wonder whatever happened to her. I hope she went off to be an artist -- she never was happy as a managing editor.

Scarily, I remember you, and me, before those days. I found some old file folders from about 1989 the other day, with style sheets and invoices in them for various publishers, all still neatly filed. Egads.

Didn't Maggie go off to live... hrm, upstate New York, I'm thinking, with a guy she either had married or was going to marry? I got a few e-mails from her, but lost track after that.

Yeah, she was miserable in that job -- she couldn't separate herself from the inevitable chaos the way Bill Harris (mostly) managed...
