I'm crying.

I didn't really think I would but... I am.

Mr. President-elect, we have placed our faith and our hope in you.

Please exceed our dreams...

EtA: that...may be an acceptance speech for history books. And having nothing to do with race.

EtA2: And "The Rising" plays as Obama walks off the stage. Perfect.

My house stayed glued to the tv to watch... and we're all in tears over it.

We have hope again.

I am very much looking forward to that day.

My tears this time are a lot different than they have been the last two elections. Tonight, it's because our President-Elect has made me hopeful and interested in what he does for more reasons than "What is he going to do to make me scared this time?"

And a very fervent ditto from the state that finally did the right thing.

I'm 54 years old. I spent much of my youth in a racist Arkansas. I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would see a black man elected president. I am so grateful that God has permitted me to see this day.

I'm not crying, but I am smiling. I heard an excerpt from McCain's concession speech on France Info, and it was the old McCain speaking, the one from before he became the GOP candidate. I was touched. I haven't heard Obama's acceptance speech yet. Yay for our side.

I cried. Then me, my boyfriend, and hundreds of people in seattle went out to the streets and celebrated. Life is good tonight.

Lots of tears here, too. A day later and I still can't talk about last night without tearing up.
