I took advantage of the flight schedule changes last night and hit the Massage Bar at SeaTac. Mmmm, my shoulder muscles approve. And a good thing too, because the rest of the evening... Parents, if your under-3 is sick, do not take him on the redeye flight. Nobody will be happy, and I do mean nobody.

However, we all made it through, and I am home, appeasing the (hungry, bored, annoyed) cats. About to head out and see if the post-commuter-rush voting lines are as bad as predicted....

EtA: 20 minutes from desk back to desk. As I suspected, most of my district voted before going to work -- a lot of senior citizens and caretakers, young mothers with strollers, and me.

No McCain pamphleteers standing outside -- three Democrat volunteers were handing out their "vote the line" sheets, the requisite distance away. Voting instructions in four different languages. Probably the best comment I heard was from the older gentleman in front of me, coming out of the booth: "That's done. Thank god."

And the line at Starbucks to claim the free coffee was damn impressive.

Did anyone get an "I voted" sticker today? Or did the PTB look at the proposed turnout and say fuggedaboutit?

If you were voting where I was, there was a decent pre-9am rush. I didn't get a chance to get back to the Starbuck's for coffee.

And no, I didn't get stickered, either. Harrumph.

Yep. And considering they were already flustered by a busted machine when I was there at 6:45 this morning, they were probably in fine form by the time you got there.

BTW, it's fun because there are about a gajillion different districts in our area. I swear, the even numbered side of our street is one district, the odd numbered side is another.

The chaos, it is much, yes.

You're lucky. My employer got to her polling place in the East Village at 6:45 ... and she's still there. She'll probably miss our flight ... good thing there are more later that'll still get her there in time. Yoiks.

I didn't get the little "I voted!" sticker. :-(

West Haven's budget is meh right now, they didn't even send out the little "where to vote" papers in the mail this year.

I'll be voting later today, but my co-workers who have vote are all sporting the stickers...

I got my voter sticker yesterday, so they're certainly out there, but I am volunteering in the office so I have something like "access."

Reading the comments on your experiences when voting, I found myself thinking about all my European based friends who are planning to watch the results tonight and praying to whatever God they recognize for change. In my 25 years of living in Europe, I have never known people here to be so interested in the outcome of the American election. It's as if we have all somehow become the predicted global village. I don't know how late I can stay awake but I'll be with you as long as possible.

Let's hope we make it this time. What is so astonishing to me is the sense of community that the Obama campaign has created. So many people going out of there way to do that little thing that can make a difference. I have to believe that it's going to be all right.

I am an American and I am sick of the news coverage of the American election. I can only imagine how the French feel.

Too f*cking right! When you get wet, we catch the cold. I'm more concerned about your elections than I am about our own (UK). Wishing everyone over the Pond a Happy Obama Day tomorrow.

Haven't been out yet, but going soon.

I have a fair amount of time to wait while my neighbors exercise their right to vote, so I wouldn't mind if the line was out the door. Or even to the door. We don't usually have much of a line midday.

We don't get free coffee. :-( Cookies, though! Don't know if I'll get a sticker.

I didn't get a sticker because I voted absentee. Good thing, too, considering I'm not able to move around a whole lot right now. :-/

I'm posting while taking a quick break from working as a pollwatcher. It's been steady most of the day, with a real heavy turnout starting right at seven when we opened and lasting until nine. We expect another heavy turnout from four until we close. I got here around six to get ready and have a long way to go...

Brian and I voted at 11 am today. There were only two other people there. We got stickers but no Starbucks. Becky voted at 2 pm and still nobody there. This is a Republican stronghold so this is good news. Stay home, Republicans! We've got it covered for you!

I got a sticker. Only two people ahead of me, a couple coming in the door. We had two voting machines available. Yeah, I'm out in the sticks.

Virginia hasn't been called yet, but what's fascinating is that if you look on cnn.com, you can see for any given state how the counties and independent cities are reporting. You can also see the results of a lot of the propositions. Arkansas passed the one that wouldn't let gay couples adopt. We still have a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG way to go.

Right now the electoral call is 200-85. And YAY! They've called NM blue!
