CLG update
Apr. 23rd, 2004 02:04 pmOkay, Kath has started doing updates on the gila queen site -- http://www.gilaqueen.us So you can go there for as-they-happen newsflashes rather than waiting for me to pass along e-mails. This is the most recent one:
"Earlier in the week, the surgeon did a procedure called a pleurodesis, which essentially is squirting some special talc through the chest tube onto the lung to stabilize it. That worked. But today the surgeon ordered a chest x-ray because air was still escaping somewhere; then Charlie had a ct scan. And around 6 the surgeon came in to say that he would have to insert a third chest tube, this time toward the lower part of the lung [the tube does not go into the lung]. However, he would be pulling out one of the other tubes so that Charlie didn't have three. The surgeon said the lung sounded good afterward, and another chest x-ray was ordered."
