Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Anarchists, Unaffiliateds, foreigners [resident or otherwise], and more all died in the events of 9/11.

So here's my suggestion on how we can best honor them all.

No politics. A 24 hour quiet zone.

No politicians speaking at memorials. No political pundits screaming this or that. No campaign ads aired or internet rumors spread. Nobody claiming this or that, no beating up on another party or pointing a finger...

Just... people, remembering not just the dead of this day but all the victims.

Unfortunately your suggestion came to late to hold my tongue (or fingers in this case). As a fellow New Yorker you know what I mean when I say that I honor the memory of those lost because of 9-11, and that is what makes me all the more indignant and angry about the way politics in some circles are being run.
