Back on the positive word count, but only just. However, that which was broke has been mended. Yay! Pausing to carb-load (fresh corn on the cob and a baked potato with local cheddar) and off I go again. I have a goal, I have it in my sights, and I have nowhere I need to be until 5pm Thursday. Onward!

side note: I may have consumed too much diet coke today. How much is "too much," really?

"a couple days" or "a couple things." Seeing way too much of that (an unnatural outgrowth, I suppose, of people thinking "Things have [gotten better, gotten worse, etc]" contracted in dialogue to "things've" actually means "things of"...)

I don't have many household peeves, being of the 'language evolves' school of thought, but that's one that itches.

It's not a word. The word is "regardless." "Irregardless" is a double negative ('ir' and 'less').

we have sort of figured out the money, but they are being every stereotype of red tape government and Useless Public Servants ever made, taking great pride in refusing to do anything that wasn't cut in stone 1000 years ago, even when it would solve the problem -- and, of course, taking great pride in the fact that they refuse to take initiative or update their files that are wrong....
