I think I kind of like Pixie Corpse best, myself. And that fact scares me. But only a little.

And I really need to get back to the manuscript. Teenaged boys, drunk and showing off with magic. This should be amusing...


addendum #1: Okay, I've heard the reports and I've skimmed the newsfeeds, and
can someone please tell me who fed the high grade pot to the president before sending him out there?

addendum #2: Got the official e-mail, so I guess it's true -- my story "Serpent's Rock" has been accepted for the young adult anthology Teen Warriors. I had a blast writing this (if you define a blast as 'shit f*ck damn that doesn't work, and that doesn't work, and damn it I need more research and damn it, the story's too long I have to cut 1000 words!' Which, yeah, I guess I do) and I'm very glad the editors liked it. And yes, credit to agamisu who gave me the research I needed to make all the bits work, and the kick in the arse to get it done.

Hmm. I used two nicknames and the current and historical versions of the family names. So far, Sedated twice, Heartless ArchAngel, Disturbed Angel, Violent Beauty, and Twisted Illusions. I kind of like Disturbed Angel. Sedated...fits way too well.

YA Anthology

Funny that you mention a young adult anthology...I just finished a story that I'd like to submit to young adult anthologies. Do you know a good place to look for YA anthology calls for submissions?

Try ralan.com, which has reasonably well updated listings. But, honestly, very few of the professional-paying anthologies have open calls - even fewer on the YA side, from what I've seen. The trick is to be in the right place at the right time to meet the right person and get your name stuck in their memory. Sucks, but is true. Even for the semi-established names. :-(
