lagilman: coffee or die (impeachment)

Dennis Kucinich is presenting articles of impeachment against the Shrub, via CSPAN.

(he is also setting the stage for Shrub to possibly be tried as a war criminal, if someone were to wish to walk that road....) EtA: yes, the term's been uttered: "could be considered war crimes."

*salutes Representative Kucinich, and all of us who have urged him on via e-mails and phone calls*

EtA2: I've already sent an e-mail, to be forwarded via my own Representative, saying "you go, boy!" Er, in words more appropriate to the situation.

EtA3: This isn't being covered on any of the major media outlets tht I can find.... I wonder if Kucinich pulled this out without advance warning, to take the Republicans by surprise? Or is our news media really that useless?

EtA3: Article 28. Tampering with elections, voter fraud, and corruption of government offices in the investigation thereof. Cousin of the thing that nailed Nixon, and it's all the way down the list at 28....

EtA4: Hidden under the Reuters newstick: http://www.nytimes.com/reuters/washington/politics-usa-politics-impeachment.html
If you support this move, you'd best tell your Congresscritters that, or this will fail, too...

EtA5: Article 31. Katrina, and the abandonment of citizenry's life and property in the face of prior knowledge of the danger then and since then (and the denial and suppresion of knowledge of those dangers).

EtA6: and global warming and the hijacking of legitimate science, yeah. I'm not sure that's technically an impeachable offense, but I'm glad to see it laid on the table.

Elsewhere it's been suggested that Dennis nail the Articles to the White House door a la Martin Luther. I'd so pay money to see that.

EtA7: 9-11. He had warning. And did nothing. Not news. But now bluntly stated on the Floor, and in the Records, and let the blood stain his hands.

EtA8: Will this go anywhere? Probably not. Dogs in the House. Dogs in the Senate, too. But that doesn't mean we should just shrug, or we really will get the government we deserve...and we won't deserve representatives like Kucinich.

Eta9: And now they Adjourn and Consider. And now we see who will do what, and who will get a fire lit under them....

11:58pm: and I am very tired. Bed now. Talk amongst yourselves....

Remind me to loan you the Vincent Bugliosi book when I'm finished with it. Bugliosi has a case to charge him with over 4,000 counts of murder.

Searching Google News on "impeachment" and "Dennis" (easier to spell than "Kucinich") brings up the story on wire services and a number of newspapers and news sites.

I didn't see any TV network or station listed as having the story, but they might have been on the next page of the list.

I don't consider TV a good news source.

Well, you know my feelings about our owned by the ultra right, body and soul mass media.

Wasn't article 28 NUMMY? And a bit later, I adore the venom in his voice when he says "Kenneth Blackwell". Yepper, when the Dogturd in Question is from your home state, he gets the extra sooper special asskick.

Go, DENNIS! Somewhere in the ether, Molly Ivins is watching with a big grin and misty eyes.

I miss Molly Ivins. This political year would have been a delight for her.

Who wants to bet that this gets buried just like the Pentagon propaganda story? The NYT broke that one and nobody...even...noticed.

OK, here we go. The meat. 9/11 failure.

Get 'em, Dennis. Rip their throats out. Draw blood, baybee.

She would have enjoyed it - one of the last of the people I'd still read at this point. From Olberman on out, I detest and despise the rest of them.

For me, it's been a nightmare. Ended with me leaving the party I'd worked for and with for thirty five years. But watching Dennis do his thing makes me happy.

And yes, it'll get buried.

Have begun the "support this and redeem yourselves, you paid public servants who live on my tax dollars!" emails to my Big Three. Since one of them is Mme Speaker, her taking a stand on this one is unlikely. But we shall see.

Just put it in my news update on Facebook, and emailed it to a shitload of people.

(Man, he's pissed about Katrina, and so am I. STILL pissed about Katrina. Please can I have first crack at pounding Condi into mush with her own Ferragamos over that one?)

*root*root*root* Go, Kucinich!

I have much work to do, and am using LJ as brief breaks from intense (fun, but intense) interview questions. With the office door open ... current topic is Louisiana levees.

We weren't always poor.

Which you took away
We want your ass in jail

I've just sent an email to Charles Rangel, and I also phoned Kucinich's Washington office to leave a message of support (while DK was reading Article 33, IIRC).

I'm grateful to you, Suri, and to [livejournal.com profile] twistedchick and to Paula Lieberman and others for the heads-up so that I could actually follow this historic moment, live. (And I'm glad I happened to wake up in time to check my internet habitat and see the notices!)

Next morning, my "trusted" news sources (Canada's CBC and UK's bbcnews) had nothing on it yet. I'll give them a little while longer before I don't respect them anymore, but it better show up today.

Oh god, only if you also want to see White House security gun the poor guy down in the process.

I miss people with faith in their convictions.

I agree with everything except the global warming stuff. DoD has been doing some independent research, trying to avoid the fanatics on both sides of the issue. The results are, interesting...
