Die is cast. Flat is reserved, tickets bought.

I will be spending two weeks this summer hip-deep in Research Trip in the vineyards [and workrooms] of Burgundy.

eeeeeeeee.......

(that, by the way, is an eeeeee of glee, of panic, and of "oh my god I need to brush up on my French because what got me by in Paris may not work in Dijon....")

[and, on schedule, I get an e-mail from Madame Editrix for "Anna" regarding revisions for DAUGHTER OF THE SEA, and an e-mail from a new client. *juggles schedule very very carefully*]

I'm a (former) professional. I know when to spit.

That's just way too easy. I feel kind of insulted.

well, the exchange rate, yeah. In 2005 we were in England and Switzerland, and it was bad then; it's worse now.

But -- still -- two weeks in Burgundy? Should be fabulous.

Burgundy is so lovely; you'll have a wonderful time. French that got you by in Paris should do equally well there; your problem is likely going to be the idioms, and they never expect tourists to get those right anyhow.

Whooo-yah! for you!

not to rain on any parades or anything, but if you are going to be bringing your computer, remember to get the proper power converters.

Is your passport up to date?

do you have enough of any needed prescriptions?

*ahem*

That is full of win!!

I mean, poor you having to be subjected to that. I think you need a research assistant to take some of the weight off your shoulders. ::nods sagely::
