I have decided that cyberlife as depicted by Gibson et al will be really annoying to the rest of us, at least evidenced by the guy on the 1 train with me this afternoon, moving his hands like he was navigating cyberspace -- and really pissing off the people next to him, whose realspace he was invading.

Anyway. Work has ambushed me, with (as per e-mail from Madame Editrix) Anna Leonard's copyedit on its way to me as well. Wheeee. If you've posted recently, I haven't read it. If you've e-mailed me, I haven't gotten to it. If you've shown up on my doorstep, the sheets and towels are in the linen closet, please feed the cats.

I'll be back later.

Drat! I'm already annoyed by having to listen to everyone else's conversations. I can't imagine how p-o'd I'll get if everyone goes all Zubin Mehta as well.

Although, I'll be the first to admit that perhaps the annoyance comes from not being able to hear *both* sides of juicy conversation.

Recently I've noticed a lot of people using phrases like "I haz" and other strange grammatical constructs. Where does this come from? Reminds me of the comic strip "Mutts".

Ooooooookay. But I still don't get it, and still wonder where it originated before it became a website. It's cute, but I think I'll stick with New Old English.
