The next time I decide it might be interesting to:

Write a book
GoH a convention
Buy a co-op*
Have bronchitis
Move

In ten weeks?

Please shoot me.

(okay, so the book’s only 1/3 written, and I didn’t really plan to get bronchitis, but you know what I mean).

But the dragon is warming up the high notes at the end of the tunnel, so we may yet survive...

*for those not familiar with the term: a condo apartment, only with shared ownership of the entire building, not just common areas.

This sounds exciting! Where's the apartment, etc etc?

oooooh, Riverdale! Nice. Much of family lived in Riverdale for ages and ages. And some of our best family friends still do. You're right about being a nice combo of city and cozy.

And how lovely -- you'll be closer to Pig Heaven ;-) Once you're settled, we shall go and celebrate!

Riverdale is lovely! Good for you.

Hope the bronchitis is over soon. If you're packing while you have it, PLEASE wear a mask. The dust will be icky.

Or pay to have the movers pack. I've done that twice now, and it's worth it. Kind of.

buying the co-op alone would floor me - it's potentially SUCH a process. But exciting as well!

Bronchitis - UGH! I used to get it disturbingly frequently - not helped at all thanks to a late in life bout of chicken pox - so my symptathies!!!! Will you have a bit more time to recover before the move?

of course they did. what's not to like? and it's not like they are the IRS, who aren't allowed to like anyone :-)

But as you say - it's done now. So congrats!!!!!!!!!! A new home is always exciting.

Sounds lovely, especially the six closets. Closets are as valuable as wall space, these days.

Boomer's going to go nuts watching the fauna on that tree. He can't get out, can he?

Congratulations on the co-op, and best wishes that the bronchitis Goes Away Very Soon Now.

(If you can hire big burly professional movers, given the bronchitis, that might be a good idea....)

Good! You've got some heavy stuff, and the felines will be traumatized enough. FWIW, when I moved my mother's things into storage, the movers had a specialist in packing china and crystal. Considering that she had a certain amount of the stuff, I went for this. YMMV.

Ahh so that's what a co-op in...

Sounds like a Condo Apartment with a PITA HOA!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery and a smooth finish to the WOOSH!

Hope you're all settled and happy in time for the next woosh!

Actually, I'm very sympathetic. On October 9 I arrived in Santa Rosa, CA with debg to go house shopping. On the 10th I offered on a place. Then I returned to MA, organized the movers, completed the fun of closing on the new house, sold my car, made arrangements for the purchase of a new one, organized the transport for my dogs and self (and again debg, who was my beautiful assistant for the process). Moved in on Nov. 12. By Thanksgiving the interior was painted, 200+ boxes were unpacked, I had pneumonia, and I had 199.5 billable hours for the month. It's not a book, but a reasonable work equivalent. So it can be done, the lights in the tunnel aren't necessarily headlamps. The pneumonia part, however, is not recommended; please get Good Drugs for your bronchitis.

Hope you love your new home.

You said co-op and I'm wondering how far out of NYC you went to buy into a farmer's co-op. Thank goodness for clarification!

Riverdale may have a Farmers Market. Bronxville - a very short drive away -- has one from Memorial Day until Thanksgiving on Saturday mornings. We buy lots of stuff there. And we can introduce you to the Jam Man and the Jam Ma'am.
