And for those of you wondering why I hate Joe Lieberman? I called his office yesterdsay morning to find out how he was going to come down on this issue. I asked a staffperson, rather politely, what Joe's stance on this was...and they hung up on me.

I called again, and nobody answered.

I called a third time, and was rather frostily informed that "the Senator has not issued a statement on this yet." As the filibuster was in progress, he hadn't actually decided which side was going to pay out better for him.

Joe? You stink up the joint. And not in a good stinky-cheese way, either.

Yay Sen. Dodd ... too bad his stances on so many other important issues are reprehensible.

well, he is a politician. We can't expect him to be entirely reasonable. At this point, all I want is one that knows, respects, and maintains the Constitution, and holds a few basic rational thoughts in hir brain, and it will be a positive change.

If you get the opportunity I would suggest calling Lieberman's office and asking for the Chief of Staff. Let him/her know that you're a constituent and how you were treated. I've worked phones in a Senate office and we were told to NEVER hang up. It was a firable offense. You're the tax-payer, such behavior is inexcuseable.

Not a bad suggestion, except that would presume that Joe actually gives a damn. Very few people in Connecticut (except the narrow band he keeps sucking up to) have any faith in that whatsoever.
