There is something humbling about the realization that your cats trust you enough to come at their eyes with a q-tip. No scratching, to hissing, no mad struggle to get away, just a fidgety "may I sniff that? Yuck. Oh, all right, if you must...."


Of course, I do let them place their paws on my face, claws and all, so I suppose fair's fair...

That is the sign of a good human-cat relationship. I know when AEry sticks those paws in the corner of my eye, I get a little scared, but she hasn't hurt me yet. Not even when I had to take her rectal temperature. And THAT is saying something.
