OMG it's that time of year again. Starbucks justifies their presence upon this earth with the part-skim Eggnog* Latte. What every deadline-crunched writer needs while sitting in a corner going over her copy-edit...

For the calories and caffeine we receive, let us be Thankful. Amen.


My wishes for everyone observing to have a safe, satisfying, thanks-filled Thanksgiving! And if you find yourself caught up in traffic delays, be thankful you have somewhere to go, and relax. We'll all get there in the end, and if we've been very, very good, the cranberry sauce will have proper ridges. (cue: Holy War, Thanksgiving Iteration). I'm off tomorrow for a day of Family, three generations deep and many cousins wide, almost all of whom understand that "I'm on deadline(s)" means "please refill my glass and don't ask how it's going...."



*and Gingerbread. I do love the gingerbread latte, too!

I'm impressed that you can work in a Starbucks. The Starbucks around here are always so busy and noisy I can't get any work done.

my local Starbucks is across from one of the major blocks of Yale Downtown. At any given hour, it's half-filled with students or faculty, either working, studying, or aware of the fact that others are working/studying.

Also, I have the office-trained ability to make anything not My Job into white noise when I'm working. Almost anything, anyway.

Busy and noisy isn't a problem for me, so long as I'm not the one being addressed. It's at home that I can't work, because of people wandering into my office wanting things. Starbucks is my favorite place to take the laptop and get some real work done. I can't wait till the new B&N opens up in the spring.

I'm the only person I know who thinks the Gingerbread Latte is gross. I haven't tried the Eggnog, though, I should. I do love me the Caramel Apple Cider. Yum.

Eggnog Latté? Is that coffee with eggnog in it? Eeeuuuuuw. I Loooove eggnog (Hood whole milk without alcohol flavorings) and I love Latté, but I don't know if I would love the two mixed together.
